Please note: These are directly from the database and there may be some repeats due to different spellings. They are not all Spanish, there are some Italian and French names here as well as Anglo names. The Anglo names such as Smith, are here by marriage, although some of the other surnames evolved into Spanish-like names. The number in parenthesis represents represents how many people by that surname are contained in the database.
The "DE" in front of the surname is used to identify the generation. For example all the people with DE-MONTEMAYOR as a surname are from the first generation of that particular branch. Subsequent generations drop the "DE" changing into simply just MONTEMAYOR. This general rule does not apply to "DE LA", "DE LOS" and "DEL"

This database will be available sometime in the future probably on a fee basis. A great value I assure you, since I plan to offer it for about $25 with something like 10,000 individuals and over 2500 families. Of course this will be only the initial phase as I will continue to add names to the database and offer free upgrades via Email. Typically the database will be offered in several formats including GEDCOM and PAF. At least ninety percent of these individuals were born before 1900. The database is specific to this geographical area, South Texas, Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon, Coahuila etc. This project is still a few months away from completion.

This is a list of places for people from the database. By no means, am I implying that I have complete family histories for all of the places. It could be that one person from the database was born in one of these places. On the otherhand it could also mean that I have hundreds of marriages from that one place. In the future as time permits, I will provide a breakdown of the events and where they transpired. By events, I mean births, baptisms, marriages, burials etc.. In addition, I have condensed the list and limited only to South Texas and Northern Mexico.
